| Dermatos® custom made prosthetic hands |
![]() Before and After... |
Many partial hand patients desire
a prosthesis that will be specially designed to allow for maximized movement of
a remaining digit such as a thumb. In the case pictured here, careful attention was made in the engineering/sculpting faze of the prosthesis creation to ensure that thumb motion would not hindered by the tension in the silicone surrounding the palm. |
| As we guarantee, the result was a
success. This patient was particularly happy because another firm that claimed
to have the experience necessary tried to create a prosthesis for him- not
once, but twice. On both occasions the prosthesis was a failure. Unfortunately
it not unusual for Alatheia to be the "last stop" on an amputee's journey for a
successful prosthesis. The Alatheia difference is clearly seen in cases such as these- where only experienced and skilled anaplastologists can determine success. |
Shown above, some
Dermatos® wearers prefer to wear a band-aid or ring to
cover any transition between their flesh and the prosthesis. |

Many
Dermatos® clients are professionals desiring a prosthesis
that will not bring attention to their disfigurement. Camouflaging is extremely
important for many executives and other professionals that use their hands in
presentations and meetings. |
