What is Dermatos®

Position Adjust-ability

armature animation

Passive adjustable armatures can be fitted in finger and prosthetic hands. With an armature, the opposing hand can bend the fingers or finger of the prosthetics into a desired position to maximize mechanical function.

myoelectric hand with dermatos
With an electric hand this user can pick up a glass of water.

For individuals desiring active movement of a hand, cable driven or myoelectric (electronic) hands can be made. These prosthetic devices allow for active prehension (grasp) and movement. In cases such as these, Dermatos® can be made into a thin skin to cover the moving parts.
